The American people are already passionate about preventing other people from building housing near them. Now you expect them to not only tolerate new buildings and neighbors, but also pay taxes to fund those buildings and subsidize those neighbors? We don’t have to speculate about how civic control over housing development works or what kind of decisions our communities will make. They are the problem, not the solution.
