Could it be argued that publishers' book are astonishingly similar to free open source versions i.e. they are trying to make money off by packaging free public domain information?
- freshfruit 15y agoI think you'd have a lot of trouble backing this up with examples. Most open source textbook initiatives, including Wikipedias, haven't gotten very far. Closed source textbooks have a much longer history setting curriculum and setting a content standard for courses than open source.
