Taxes pay for all sorts of things that ‘we don’t like’. It’s a benign statement. Certainly, paying taxes for daycare is more fruitful for the country as a whole rather than paying taxes for welfare for those who do not work (yet have many children) — a huge net negative for society, and of course taxes for waging war which you don’t seem to bat an eye at.
