A-10 vs F-35 Close Air Support Flyoff Report Finally Emerges

- meepmorp 3y agoNo, not at all. If anything, the report shows the F-35s can replace the A-10 for CAS in low and medium threat environments - which, coincidentally, are the only ones the A10 can operate in because it's a slow moving target for MANPADS. And that's leaving behind the highly outdated avionics and other onboard systems that A-10 hard to integrate into modern operations. The GAU-8 is super cool and I love the brrrrrrrt as much as the next guy, but it's not a reason to keep the A-10 in the air.
