I still think they could have been more patient, if they had kept Nokia, and had phones next sitting next to their laptops in the big brand stores, I think they could have broken in. I think they still could. I was reading that in 2017, the last version had some "convergent" stuff where you could dock your phone and plugin a keyboard an monitor and it would act like a full PC. Sounds awesome. I would have doubled down on that. Make phones real computers that you carry with you. Not dumb appliances. Be as different as possible. Like the Nintendo strategy in the console wars. Don't compete on simplicity and usability, compete on power and customization. Something like that.
