Ask HN: How are you bypassing YouTube anti-adblocker?
Adblock was fine for me until just recently. Any hacks around it?
- ClassyJacket 3y agoWith anti-anti-adblocker. Also known as an anti-anti-anti-ad-addon.
- BillyTheMage 3y agouBlock Origin[1] is still working for me, as long as I've been keeping it updated. I use the "Medium Mode"[2] setup, but I don't bother with dynamic filtering. The main thing is enabling almost all of the filter lists, and keeping them updated regularly as well. There's also Invidious[3], which I think has all YouTube videos, but I don't like the interface quite as much to be honest. - [1]: https://ublockorigin.com/ https://ublockorigin.com/ - [2]: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Blocking-mode:-medium-mode https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Blocking-mode:-medium... - [3]: https://yewtu.be/ https://yewtu.be/
- Quillbert182 3y agoUBlock Origin on Firefox has been working for me, I just have to update my filters once a week or so.
- johntiger1 3y agoYep, Firefox still works for me. What do you update your filters to?
- johntiger1 3y agoEdit: FF no longer works for me, Chrome does though
- figure8 3y agoI subscribe to YouTube Premium and strongly recommend it. With my heavy usage, I'm happy to pay each month to avoid ads.
- sails01 3y agoNice try, Google!
- pestatije 3y agotime spent watching ads vs time spent discovering/installing/managing ad blockers...not worth it
