Very few people would benefit from USB-4 in their phones. They mainly use those ports for charging. The Pro phones have faster USB for file transfer but even there, that is a minority use case.
The M-series of chips use the same cores as the A-series but have other support chips that will have little benefit to a phone but will use more power. They just are not optimized for phone use.
You could wish that Apple would put more cores in the A-series for additional multi-threaded performance but that would have a cost too and might not be much benefit either.
- pornel 3y agoI want the full Thunderbolt and macOS on my phone.
- outcoldman 3y agoThe issue with USB-C is limitation of iOS. I have downloaded 40Gb of videos from nvme drive from a friend to iPhone files app, but could not find a way to transfer them with a cable to my MBA. (Videos are skydiving videos from a training, not a porn )
