Being a part of a technology wave and having strong intuitions about it, yet not being able to fully realize your vision due to opportunity gaps and limitations in advanced programming expertise, can be extremely frustrating. This sums up my sentiments regarding the recent developments in LLM. After experimenting with Langchain and Llama-index, I quickly realized they were suitable for quick prototyping but not for production. They were highly opinionated about certain methods, such as RAG and agents, which reduced flexibility when working on a custom full-stack application.
