reach out to the devs for any number of webkitgtk browsers, agree on a 10-year plan to factor it into a bunch of smaller, more maintainable libraries/interfaces and eventually split from Apple, and go to work. unless you can bring better leadership to the project, Firefox is a dead end. you’re talking about monocultures: how many different webkitgtk or qtwebengine (chromium)-based browsers are there? how many gecko browsers are there? which one’s the real monoculture?
