Same way as every other English word - the spelling seems unrelated to the pronunciation.
I've never heard this word. Is the 'gh' part pronounced as in though or as in tough?

- gilleain 3y ago> English word Oops! Hah. It's a town in Northern Ireland. Actually it had not occurred to me that the gh is silent. Guess when you know how to say a word it's 'obvious' when of course it's not
