Does anyone know roughly based on the specs how this roughly compares to the pi family for performance?
- Havoc 3y agoSeems to beat a pi4 on CPU score. https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=BCM2711&id=4297 https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=BCM2711&id=4297 https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Rockchip+RK3566&id=5429 https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Rockchip+RK3566&id=... pi4 is 4 years old after all
- filterfiber 3y agoOh nice. For a few projects the pi 4 is plenty (some I can make due with a 3b), and for 15$ that'd be awesome (assuming software is okay which... for non-pis is dicey)
- Havoc 3y agoActually...no longer sure. The A55 seems to come in lower https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=ARM+Cortex-A55+4+Core+2100+MHz&id=4555 https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=ARM+Cortex-A55+4+Co... ...so something here isn't like for like comparable.
- RetroTechie 3y agoYeah I thought simplistic Cortex A72 > A55 > A53 (although the A55 is a relatively new Arm core). Perhaps differences here are caused by silicon process used for the SoC on this particular board, RAM bandwidth (or size), or some core tweaks like cache sizes? Pretty beefy for a Pi Zero sized (& priced) board though.
- RetroTechie 3y agoRockchip RK3566 4x Cortex-A55 up to 1.6GHz Mali G52-2EE gpu hw-acceleration for various video codecs Neural Processing Unit choice of 1/2/4/8GB RAM CPU wise that should put it between RPi3 and RPi4 (closer to the RPi4?). Unless of course you're using software that supports hw-acceleration for a video codec not present on the Pi. Or can use the NPU.
