Man do I wish debate would disappear from the public sphere. Winning a debate means you were better at debating, not that your science was more sound.
- fwungy 3y agoIdeas that undergo adversarial attack are strengthened or weeded out. A good, quality, debate can serve that purpose.
- SketchySeaBeast 3y agoThe scientific method already has means for rejecting weak hypotheses. Debate doesn't serve that purpose.
