Do you use encryption and/or compression on the hard drives or cloud? That’s my main concern with disaster recovery - feels so much easier if it’s literally just raw files backed up everywhere instead of needing software.
- radlad 3y agoThey are just an rsync clone on my NAS (so raw files), but restic uses encryption and compression when backing up to Backblaze. There are other approaches, but I appreciate having the dedupe & snapshots, and I encrypt any potentially sensitive files that I send to the cloud.
