Hardly at all, video decoding isn't parallelisable. It's often lumped in with the GPU but it is significantly different.
- ajb 3y agoThe question is about encoding. It is significantly parallelizable because you are doing a search for the best encoding you can find. Also at a micro level there are things like motion search for which vector ops are useful. So I would say that it's likely they will look into that.
