The strongest argument is actually to have ANY large company trying to balance the dominance of Qualcomm in the (Android) flagship segment by boosting another supplier.
Especially in US the preference of Qualcomm from carriers is so strong that even the juggernaut Samsung was not able to get their Exynos platform into a flagship more than one time (Galaxy S6 iirc) an always had to produce Qualcomm-based variants for US (which in turn limited their funding for R&D of the competing Exynos platform)
