My personal expectation would be for iPods to fade away. Who needs an iPod if you can have an iPhone? Except for kids, of course. But 3 year olds are not the big drivers behind app store sales (just a guess). Also I think you can get Android phones that are cheaper or not much more expensive than iPods already.
