Biomarkers to detect the heating of fatty acids in residues from pottery use
- londons_explore 3y agoIs it possible that these people put a little fat/oil into the clay mixture they were using when making the pots? Perhaps to make it more workable? If so, then finding it in the pots afterwards isn't evidence of cooking.
- cahooon 3y agoDo you have an alternate theory as to what the various pots were made for? The techniques and resources needed to gather "a little fat/oil" and use them to make pottery seem, to me, to have a good bit of overlap with cooking.
