The thing that bugs me a bit about Occam's razor [paraphrased] - All other things being equal, the simplest explanation is usually the right one - is I've seen too many people smugly quote the second half, leaving off the, "All other things being equal" bit. That's not Occam's fault. Razors are meant to be sharp, and people cut themselves with far blunter implements.
