The onboard NIC is barely needed, if there's an dedicated IPMI net port, I would rather go with dedicated NICs, like mellanox cx5 or cx6, you can find cheap 10/24/40/100G mlnx cards on AliExpress, with lots cluster specific featuress
- topspin 3y agoI suppose. My intent is to avoid any add-on cards so I can stack these with standoffs and cool it all with a few quiet 140mm fans.
- vladvasiliu 3y agoYou could probably get away with some low-profile cards, which shouldn't be much taller than the board's heatsink.
