Try 800x600 and you should be able to see the text much clearer. It does have other UI quirks though. IIRC, focus was determined by mouseover so if you bumped the mouse while trying to type in a textbox the keys would get lost. I found that significantly more of a problem (without an easy fix) than the screen resolution.
