Hah why not use fireworks? It'd work just as well. Hamas rockets are, for all intents and purposes, just fireworks aimed at people.
Weapons manufacturers are the scum of the earth, etc. this much is true. But there's still much to divine in what rhetorics American and Israeli manufacturers use to sell the killing of people.
- invalidname 3y agoYou are aware those "fireworks" kill civilians. Yes, they are "toys" by comparison to "proper" missiles but they do explode, maim and kill.
- MrRolleyes 3y agoSure, so do fireworks.
- mrmlz 3y agoYeah I remember New years eve when the neighboring streets launched rockets that maimed and killed my friends and family.
- hackerlight 3y agoI really don't get the hostility towards defensive Israel military tech, even from a pro-Palestinian perpsective. You realize if this system works well, all narrative backing behind Israeli airstrikes in retaliation would disappear? Tech like this indirectly protects Gazan civilians by stopping or at least reducing retaliatory airstrikes, in addition to protecting Israeli civilians. Then not only do you directly protect civilian lives on both sides, you reduce the radicalization of the Gazan young people since they no longer have to grow up psychologically scarred by airstrikes. We should all want such systems to work flawlessly.
