To your first two questions- I hope that with some education and hard work I'll be equipped to confidently respond! :) I thought React was a common front-end and Node.js a common backend? Perhaps that tells you just how little I know! I used those examples based on the features I'll need in my application (webcam capture, onscreen drawing canvas, screen-capture of the sessions, storing and sending the result via email or text). I figure I'll need some front end, some back end, and some database. Again, I'm probably just revealing my own ignorance here.
