Being born in 1981 and having used wintel machines until 2003 when I ‘switched’ to Apple Mac, it’s fascinating to watch the x86 architecture (finally) be challenged and the postfix of the portmanteau be called into question. I remember ogling at RISC architectures as a teen (I was fascinated by the IBM RS/6000 and eventually acquired a BeBox) and guys, it’s been a long time coming.
