Except it wasn't. The statue was started in 1917 put in place in 1924. The Confederacy surrendered in 1865. Lee died in 1870. It just was a piece of propagand

- marcusverus 3y agoAs justifications for iconoclasm go, this is pretty weak. The Washington died in 1799. The Washington monument wasn't started until 1848. It is still a valuable piece of history, don't you think?
