I feel this is one field that is begging a lot of trainings but even the most generous society does not offer and mandate that. We have a son and we are basically just dragging on. I think it would be easier if one if us stays at home but financially it is impossible. And Canada is already more generous than the US. I also think we should have a proper social worker system that gives some help to new parents until the kids go into daycare. At least, they should help new parents make mandatory appointments and check general condition if the kids. Unfortunately I doubt such workers would have a satisfactory salary. After all, like some IT units, they are not "profit center".
