Covid shots may slightly increase risk of stroke in older adults
- graypegg 3y ago> any tiny increase in risk of a stroke after vaccination is dwarfed by the increased risk of stroke or other serious outcomes following either a flu or Covid-19 infection. For anyone coming in here, wondering if this is some massive revelation: it doesn’t seem to be as far as I can tell. Note the mention of « flu » as well, meaning an increase of stroke incidence not even comparable to negative effects of getting the flu. I think it’s probably an alright trade off considering the positive effects of vaccination. Of course, I’m glad the research is being done! Just worded as if this is some disaster outcome in the headline.
- raxxorraxor 3y agoWouldn't it be of importance for how long this increased risk of stroke remains? Couldn't find that info in the article.
- billy99k 3y agoStrange that the tide has changed from not even being able to question the risks of the covid vaccine without becoming an anti-vaxxer and potentially losing your job to now articles like this showing us that it might be risky after all. Halloween is coming up in a week or so and I still remember people having gravestones in their yard during the height of covid with cute sayings such as 'getting a second opinion' on the covid vaccine or 'talking to my doctor' meant death. There really should be lawsuits and jail time for anyone pushing the nonsense that we couldn't question what was being put into our own bodies. The worst part of it is that many people lost their jobs over it.
