At least for the HEDT variant, I actually believe we are a point where we can potentially see one or more (less likely) refreshes considering the main problem with prev gen was I/O (releasing a new platform at the end of PCIE 4.0/DDR4 was not extremely wise of AMD). Obviously this is under the assumption that we’ll get a launch per year (same cycle as consumer variants).
- bravetraveler 3y agoHonestly, I'd buy a PCI-e gen4/DDR4-based TR system on the latest Zen/TRX40, today - right now. I [and I'd argue, most] don't need faster lanes. I need more [or the same number] of them. Quad channel DDR4 did well to keep it fed in my experience, but maybe I'm not close enough to the metal.
