No, the idea is to make money. Everything else is just a Press Release.
- jaxn 15y agoAn upvote doesn't do this comment justice. I am going to store that quote for later. The purpose of a corporation is to make money for the shareholders.
- basseq 15y agoIt's worth noting that I disagree with this statement, too. Corporations do have a social responsibility. But more tactically, simply because you can't separate actions from revenue. Intangibles like customer service, community impact, design, etc. may seem "wishy-washy", but have a measurable effect on a bottom line. You can't create value for the shareholders without creating value for employees, customers, and economies.
