- pfdietz 3y agoOlivine is a kind of silicate where the silicon atoms are in isolated tetrahedra (with four oxygen atoms), rather than linked into large chains, sheets, or 3d lattices. This makes it weather more quickly (for CO2 absorption), but I suspect also makes it dissolve more quickly in the body.
