Worse thing than that - it took roughly 9 months for a credit card of mine to be enabled. After many, many calls it turned out my name was too long... or more like it that I had submitted a middle name, the bank had not notation of such a thing, so they filled it as a first name (glued together as is tradition). Even both together are no so long - fewer than 4bits in length. In the end the bank did shorten my middle name, kept it as a sole letter.
