All it takes to have bad attendance is a strict policy and a child that needs numerous doctor appointments. Or low pay and no paid time off when you can't get to work. It is easy to resist pressure when you are talking a fun night out, but not so easy when the outcome could be utilities shutting off, less food, and so on.
