"known and unknown CSAM"
Given where image AI is, this is certain to detect a colossal amount of false positives. In fact it'll be impossible to sift out false positives soon, if it isn't already. This plan seems like fighting the last war when there's a much bigger and different problem looming.
- RIMR 3y ago"Unknown CSAM" just means scanning all your files with AI to judge content. They can't be searching for infringing material that they haven't seen before, they'd have to train a model to interpret images. Which means lots of people are going to end up flagged for pictures of their own kids, because just about every parent has nude photos of their children somewhere.

- DeepSeaTortoise 3y agoAlso you can't just have hundreds of thousands of judges, lawyers and jurors looking at CSAM all day, can you? Better to have a panel of 10 or 20 carefully selected experts (of course with secret identities to avoid them being threatened by major csam cartels) who will inform all involved parties (including yourself) at how much csam you looked and how bad it was.
