Was it a shallow pain, like almost in the surface or lining of the chest wall? Might have been something called costochondritis. I had had it off and on since the 1990s, usually for a day or two. But, after each Covid infection I had it for several days, the worst lasting a couple of weeks. Burning sensation in the breast plate, physically hot to the the touch where the ribs connected to the sternum.
