In today's market what is that? 20K 25K ? You're saving 10K or so for a bet that the original owner was reasonably responsible.

About $15k: https://www.kbb.com/toyota/corolla/2018/le-sedan-4d/?category=sedan&color=black&condition=good&intent=buy-used&mileage=60000&options=8066950%7Ctrue&pricetype=retail&vehicleid=431099 https://www.kbb.com/toyota/corolla/2018/le-sedan-4d/?categor... And I'm not sure what you consider a good deal, but $10k is a lot of money; nearly half the price of the car which has >80% of its useful life left.
- hackeraccount 3y ago10K is a lot of money. But there's something to be said for being really confident (as opposed to just confident) that your car won't have issues for the next 100,000 miles as opposed to the next 50,000. That and there's something nice about knowing the car has been taken care of the way you'd take care of it (because you have) as opposed to a stranger (who, who knows maybe planned to get rid of it after 50K miles?) :-) This is why everytime I've had to buy a car I think about getting a used one and end up buying new. And honestly, I tend to agree with the overall sentiment of this thread that cars a waste of money. I just don't want to have to think about the damn - I just want to get in and be able to get to where I'm going.
