Agreed. Its memorized knowledge generally seems to be better than its interpretation of a few web search results, often significantly so. Analyzing and interpreting new information is harder than regurgitating what one already knows, so perhaps this isn’t surprising. Even gpt-4, as amazing as it is, has quite limited analyzing, reasoning, and interpretation capabilities, compared to skilled humans.
