I don't typically agree with large media companies but in this case it's at least somewhat valid. A lot of the cheap IPTV boxes you can buy off of Amazon, etc.

A lot of the cheap IPTV boxes you can buy off of Amazon, etc. come pre-rooted and will periodically send data and retrieve commands from known botnet command & control servers.
