- rendx 3y agoWhat do you think it does to the family relationship? Besides the emotional effects for everyone directly affected (mom, biological dad, stepdad, daughter, siblings; lifelong!), how does the taboo change dynamics with friends and other relatives? Lying, looking away, knowing but not wanting to know, etc. There is plenty of material available about how adult children struggle their whole life with it, and how secrets like that can fuck you up quite badly later on; for multiple generations. Do you want to live with that responsibility? How do you think it will change how you deal with responsibility in general? Food for thought.
