I read virtual cores on a Processor, got excited for a bit but realized it’s not the same as a soft core processor.
I hope FPGAs take off one day and software can compile hyper-optimized processors that do very specialized tasks.
- ta988 3y agoFPGAs are pretty slow clockwise compared to a cpu, their main advantages is that they can work with many different kind of clocks and somewhat massively parallel. Do you have any specialized task you are thinking about?
