the pilot and first officer subdued him. if he had a gun he could have shot them both first and been successful.

  The point being made is that he could've just crashed his next own flight.

    From what I understand these things can happen on the spur of the moment without any logic to it.

    He's a 737 pilot, he could wait until he's jumpseating on a widebody plane and strike then.

      we're all assuming this pilot wanted to crash "any" plane. do we know that? what if he were trying to murder someone on this plane ?
