Voyager 3 and 4?
Why no plan for another two voyagers?
- amriksohata 3y agoCost Tools that take scientific measurements are the same as they were 30 years ago at broadcasting from that distance, maybe more reliable but same overall outputs Current voyagers already give that information Unless we master microwave tech, we can't make the Voyagers travel out faster
- ngcc_hk 3y agoBut you do not look at something 2 times. And the technology must have been improved over the decades. Come on. Why not?
- amriksohata 3y agothe tech has improved in every sphere of space research, but from that distance we are limited by speed of light/radio waves and speed of the craft still. i.e nothing new to gain for us.
- ngcc_hk 3y agoAm I read incorrectly but new horizon is a bit too “cheap” at < 1 billion us$. Not my money of course. Still not excessive.
- RicoElectrico 3y agoVoyager 1 and 2 benefitted greatly from a one-of-a-kind planet alignment allowing for a gravitational assist.
