Jon Stewart's show on Apple was canceled after a disagreement on AI and China
- dabrez 3y agoI really think that this makes sense given how much Apple has invested in their supply chain in China, I think they were making stuff in China after the iPod but before the iPhone I think. I could be completely wrong here.
- turtleyacht 3y agoThe only argument is "A government is using AI in a negative way." Any idea on the specifics? Denying services via biased automation? Deploying autonomous lethal drones? Training ML models in unfair or injust ways? Forcibly shutting down AI showing sparks of AGI? We're only told "values didn't align."
- jay_kyburz 3y agoThe take home message, for anybody that missed it, is that Apple, (and probably the other streaming services) are happy to censor content to appease business partners, and that business interests are more important than being an impartial news and current affairs platform. We all knew it, but its always good to be reminded. Good on Jon Stewart for walking away from Apple over this issue.
