Certainly timely. Given that Jon’s “young hip” audience demographic might skew pro-Palestinian, and his friends, family and business associates skew pro-Israeli, it’s difficult to see how he could stay edgy, reasonably balanced and fair, and still have someone to sit next to at Passover Seder. This way, his leaving is China’s fault (which it also might be) and he didn’t have to explain or have others justify his departure in the context of Middle East politics and Jon’s own religious beliefs. Tiptoeing between the raindrops….
