Pfffff. Why? What's the point? What needs to go into space every 2.5 days? What's the co² footprint of each flight. Fuck off Musk, you child.

- Dig1t 3y agoAnti-science, anti-technology. “Rocket man bad”
- avmich 3y agoFor long time we had the conservatives who question the new ways of doing things, who don't like the tradeoffs of new benefits vs. new drawbacks. It's a bit amusing to have them on this site :) but that's how people's opinions are distributed.
- kbelder 3y ago>What needs to go into space every 2.5 days? Humans. It's an absolute requirement.
- mdhen 3y agoWhy is a luddite on hacker news?
- raffraffraff 3y agoDo you think that some day humans are gonna live on Earth II? Or on the moon? Are you a child from the 1950s? "Earth I" has a climate crisis that should be our top concern. I'm all for pushing boundaries that matter, if the cost isn't stupidly high. But this is the work of a billionaire narcissist that came up the the cybertruck. The fucking cybertruck. What's the upside of this delusional enterprise? We get better at sending rockets a pathetically short distance from the planet. Great. Space is extremely vast and mostly empty and it takes an incredible amount of finite energy and creates an incredible amount of co² emissions to do this. I'm not a Luddite, I just think that this is extremely wasteful and harmful, and in the grand scene of things, pointless. A pointless pissing contest, and an ego vehicle for Musk. I suppose I'm also a Luddite because I don't babble about crypto.
