Just because you don't use "free" federal money doesn't mean you can't provide for those people. We don't live in a black and white world where Medicaid alone is the answer to all our problems. If anything, these centralized mandates have caused significant price increases and less competition, in multiple sectors, including thr currently apparent housing shortage and affordability crisis.
