> Doing honest work seems like an improvement, even if they concealed their origins. Sure better than ransomware but this is terrible news for anyone else doing contracting with external clients. This in addition to all those impersonation scams will force remote contracting work further and further into a low-trust economy mindset where everyone checks everything. Which obviously adds friction and makes it overall a lot less enjoyable.
