No, I didn’t call it a genocide, I said that what you call re-education camps look to me like internment camps, which can also look like concentration camps (since they’re fundamentally the same thing) and which, absent fully independent verification, might actually be extermination camps. History is the only thing that will show if those camps represent a genocide or not, but it does look suspiciously like what one would do in a genocide. Avoiding actual genocide, by the way, is why I don’t believe China’s numbers any more than I believed Bush’s or would have believed Roosevelt’s or Hitler’s or Hirohito’s.
