Nah, I'd say your spot on. But if your kid is smart, do you really want them spending 10+ hours every other week on a nonsense sociology essay?
LLMs can help students avoid getting stuck doing that
- __loam 3y agoYes I do. I want my kid to learn how to write. That's the whole point lol.
- skeptrune 3y agoIdk. I feel like after they get 5's on AP Lit/Lang, History, etc. what's the point? At some threshold they are just having their time wasted repeatedly demonstrating a skill they already mastered.
- _aavaa_ 3y agoPutting to a side whether a high grade in a pre-university class really counts as “mastery”, human cavities with skills fade with time if they’re not used. This is must clear to people who speak multiple languages and don’t use one very frequently. Getting 5s now does not mean that they’ll be able to do so again in 4 years if they pass the task off to an AI.
- fardinahsan 3y agoAnd university essays are effective for that?
- __loam 3y agoCertainly. A lot of the folks on this site probably could have used a few more humanities classes.
