Is it legal to copy DVDs that you check out of the library if you don't distribute it?
- prepend 3y agoIt’s as legal as ripping a dvd you own. That is it violates the license, but I think it’s fair use and has never been prosecuted. It’s also pretty much impossible to detect unless you distribute. Same as ripping a dvd from a friend.
- thrtythreeforty 3y agoNot in the United States. In addition to the copyright violation, it's also a DMCA violation.
