Yes, but Spectre was easily fixed by limiting the accuracy of the Browsers’ window.Performance interface AFIR. Meltdown on the other hand required a Kernel patch and a general performance penalty.
I also have all meltdown mitigations turned off in the Kernel on my Laptop.
