TDP of 350W for all of them?
- clircle 3y agoThat’s only 6x more than my 5600x
- tpmx 3y agoYes, that's a bit odd. The 96 core 7995WX: 3.6W/core The 12 core 7945WX: 29.2W/core
- Symmetry 3y agoThe relationship between frequency and power consumption is very far from linear. The 29W core is running at twice the frequency of the 3.6W core.
- tpmx 3y agoGood catch. I hadn't seen such extreme differences before within the same product series. Base frequency: 7995WX: 2.5 GHz 7945WX: 4.7 GHz

- anticensor 3y agoYou should deduct ~60W baseline I/O die power consumption (~40W for 12 and 16 core Threadrippers), which gives: 96-core: 2.5W/core + 60W I/O-die 12-core: 21.7W/core + 40W I/O-die Lower TDP settings are still available. With PBO, you might be able to extract more juice out of stock power levels.
- heelix 3y agoThat was probably the most welcome bit of news. I've got a water loop on my older threadrippers that can handle that ballpark. After the 5xxx became unobtainium for us who build their own system, I've got a 7950x that won't even turn on the fans that is waiting for something newer than what I got on the workstation front.
